(2) The competition is on creativity with no limitation on the design materials and the exhibition approach. The exhibits and the props should be provided by contestants.

VIII. The application and entry-submission method

1. Application: ICPDC 2014 Application Form should be sent to the ICPDC Organizing Committee before July 7th, 2014 by email.

2. Submission of the entries: a descriptive design file is required for the preliminary stage. The file (including the photos of the object) should be sent to the address provided by the ICPDC Organizing Committee before July 7th, 2014 (according to the dispatching postmark). The package should include the application form (The reprography can be used.) with an “ICPDC 2014” mark on the envelope.

Requirements on the entry file for the preliminary stage:

1. Contents should include the explanation on the creation concept (within 300 words), pattern design, photos of the object and exhibition or working sketches. Videos should be converted to Mpg, Avi, Swf format and submitted with a CD or DVD.

2. File size: A3 (42CM×29.7CM) with no limitation on the number of pages. Please stick the application form on the back of print file.

3. The digital file should be converted to TIFF, JPG, or CMYK format recorded in a CD or DVD. Please put the “the applicator’s name +the name of the works” on the CD or VCD and deliver it with the print file for publicity and publication. The original files should be reserved by the designers.

4. The size of the object should be indicated in the file. The limitation of the object is: less than 2.5m in height, less than 3m in length, and less than 3m in width.

The application will be accepted if the all of the above materials could be sent to the ICPDC committee before the deadline.

IX. Jury composition

We will set up an international jury, including Chinese and international famous designers, educators for art design, cultural creative celebrities, famous fashion journalists, famous fashion critics, well-known entrepreneurs.

X. Jury judging and Awards:

1. The judging criteria are set by the ICPDC 2014 Expert Committee and executed by the jury of ICPDC 2014.

2. The jury will consider the following aspects: the indication of the design theme and objective of ICPDC 2014, its originality, the reasonable and suitable combination of the selected materials, its creativity and fashionability.

3. There will be the following prizes: Grand Prize, Best Concept Creative Award, Best Design Application Award, Best Material Award, Award of Excellence, and Commemorative Team Award.

4. For the final stage we will have the following awards:

ICPDC will issue both the certificates and prize money to the winners.

In addition, the Organizing Committee will invite several contestants to Hangzhou for the final stage of competition. For those from outside Hangzhou, the committee will cover the accommodation and food expenses only during the competition. The detailed schedule will be provided in the announcement of the ICPDC. For co-designers, the committee will cover only the expenses for one.

Here are the awards and prize:

(1) One Grand Prize for the ICPDC 2014 (1) , Prize: RMB 20,000 (after tax) with the certificate.

(2) One Best concept creative award (1), Prize: RMB 10,000 (after tax) with the certificate.

(3) One Best application award (1), Prize: RMB 10,000 (after tax) with the certificate.

(4) One Best material creative award (1), Prize: RMB 10,000 (after tax) with the certificate.

(5) Ten Awards of excellence (10), Prize: RMB 1,000 (after tax) with the certificate.

(6) Several Team awards (several), for which we invite the representatives of the teams to Hangzhou for participation in addition to the certificate (covering the accommodation and food expenses for one).

(7) Thirty Entries awards (30), with certificates.

(8) The supervisor of the winner will be awarded the excellent supervisor certificate.

(9) The winner list will be published on the official website of China Academy of Art and related media. All the prize and certificates will be conferred on the ceremony of ICPDC 2014 with a public exhibition.

XI. Disclaimer

For the submitted works, the contestants must have the intellectual property (the patent right and design right, etc.). However, the ICPDC Organizing Committee has the right to have the works for exhibition and duplication for publication on the official website of China Academy of Art, news release and other publicity materials. Other regulations are subject to interpretation by the committee. All the information provided to the ICPDC Organizing Committee should be true and effective, and corresponding legal responsibility should be taken by the contestants. Contestants should take full responsibility of IP-related issues raised by a third party, and the ICPDC Organizing Committee will take no responsibility.
